B o a r d i n g

Our pets are our family members; we understand that, and are committed to caring for them and loving them when you can't.

Your dog or cat will be housed in our boarding facility, and will be fed, exercised and entertained just like they are at home.

We can accomodate any length of stay, ranging from a one-day "doggie day care" visit to longer term stays.

Our boarding policies have been put in place to ensure the safety of our boarders, and the ease of use of our services. We appreciate our clients’ support and understanding.

All dogs must have current vaccinations against Rabies, Distemper, Influenza and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). All cats must have current vaccinations again Rabies and Distemper.

Clients should be prepared to spend a few minutes filling out paperwork when they drop their pets off, regarding their temperament, habits, and general health. On this form you will also specify what food he eats and how often, and what medications he gets, and how often. You are welcome to bring food from home, or else we will feed them our own high-quality food.

Pets may be checked into or out of our facility Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4:30pm, or as late as 6:30pm on Tuesday evenings. (This is a half hour before we close. )

Pets may be checked out on Saturday or Sunday mornings between 9 and 9:30am for an additional $5 fee. If one family is boarding multiple pets, the $5 fee will be assessed only once per family. Please note it will not be possible to pick up before 9am or after 9:30am on the weekends! Our employees have many boarders to tend to, and we want them to be able to enjoy their weekends too.

It is not possible for pets to be checked in on the weekends, as we want to ensure a proper health screening before they are admitted.

Soon after the pet has been dropped off, the doctor or nurse will give him a brief physical exam. We are most concerned with seeing that their skin is healthy, they are free of fleas, and that they don't have any respiratory problems. If any problems are observed, we will notify you by telephone. Any animal with evidence of fleas will be treated with an oral medication called Capstar, which kills fleas within about an hour. Additional treatments that are necessary will be the financial responsibility of the owner.

During your pet's stay, he will be monitored routinely by a nurse or doctor. All dogs are let out first thing in the morning; weather permitting, dogs in the runs will be given outdoor access during the day. At the end of the day, they will be restricted to the indoors overnight and if it's okay with you, they'll get a cookie when they are tucked in for the night.

These additional boarding services are available for an additional fee:

"Walk Around Town": Your pet is treated to an approximately 20 minute long walk around town. This is one-on-one with our kennel staff, or if he has a friend staying at EVC, they can go together.

"Play Time": If your dog is a particular fan of fetch, or brushing, or anything else, we'll be happy to endulge for 20 minutes. This is an opportunity to give your friend some extra special attention in your absence.

"Spa Morning": On the day your dog is to go home, we will bathe him and trim his toenails. Cats will just get the nail trim.
